Folk Alliance Region Midwest (FARM)

 —  —

Hilton Lisle, Lisle IL (Chicago)

I'm heading to FARM for the first time this year, after attending Folk Alliance conferences in three other regional sites over the years. Looking forward to meeting new people - the friends I haven't yet met - hearing new music, and generally enjoying that great conference vibe. For those who are coming.... see ya there!!

Joining Brightwell and Moran (formerly Radio Stranger) again as their bassist for a show at the annual Oregon City Festival of the Arts. A fabulous two-day festival celebrating all kinds of local artists in a variety of media. With live music and food. Family fun for everyone. Admission is free. Our performance is 3pm on Sunday, Aug 13. Come out and join the shindig!

I'll be joining Portland songwriter and "Weaver of New Americana Tales" Carl Solomon as his guest songwriter/performer at the annual "Voices on the River" event at Paradise House Concerts in Eagle Creek (near Estacada). A beautiful, relaxing spot and lovely home in the woods on a bend in the Clackamas River. Always a good time... a big deck and plenty of spots to relax under the trees, or literally on chairs IN the river. Bring your favorite summer chair and snacks to share. BYOB. Suggested donation $15. On the heels of his recent album release "Corner of the World", Scott Martin will be performing all the songs on the record at a private house concert event hosted at the concert space at the Mosaic Art and Home Gallery in Smithville, Texas. This will be one of several planned release performances. I will be joining Scott, on bass and backing vocals, and he will also be joined by multi-instrumentalist David Mosher, a fine songwriter in his own right. David and I will play a few songs of our own as well. Scott will be reaching out to the Mosaic folks and other fans of his music with concert attendance info. Appearing w/ Radio Stranger

Rosemont, West Linn, OR

Just one year ago, Radio Stranger (aka Portland songwriters Kelly Brightwell and Woody Moran) held a fabulous street concert for many enthusiastic neighbors. Together with the support band (Jean-Pierre Garau on keys, Jeffrey Koch on electric guitar, and yours truly on da bass), it was a welcome boogie time after such a crazy summer of both Covid and western wildfires running amok, and heavy smoke in our area which cleared that week. And Kelly was saying farewell, bound for the Midwest. Her life path has changed, however, and she is back with us in Portland, so we are using this September occasion for another great show in West Linn, an anniversary concert of sorts. And we have our longtime drummer friend Don Shultz with us this time! Come out and see us! Watch for the Facebook event on the Radio Stranger page.
